Module 1: The Curious Cat

If you’re watching this. Yes! You Can Forgive Yourself! Each and every one of us is capable of forgiving ourselves. But the question is, are we committed to forgiving ourselves?

Self-forgiveness is one of the most challenging forgiveness that we can give because there’s so many reasons that come up for why you can’t forgive yourself. When those things come up, what you’re doing right now is you’re choosing to believe all those reasons why you can’t forgive yourself.

  • Maybe someone told you that you can’t’ be forgiven.
  • Maybe you believe you have to receive forgiveness from this higher power of your understanding to be forgiven, or
  • Maybe you’re just judging yourself, and shaming yourself, and feel that you are not worthy of forgiveness.

Whatever the reason is, you have your reasons. And what we’re going to do for this is, for the first time, probably, in your life:

We’re not going to judge those reasons.

We are going to get curious about those reasons, and you are not alone for believing that you are not worthy forgiving yourself. You’re not the only one watching this. You’re not the only one to experience that. I’ve also experienced that for myself as well. I have done things in my life in which I inflicted harm on others. I inflicted harm on myself, and I had such an intense struggle of forgiving myself, so you are not alone with this.

I want to acknowledge you for taking the first step now of forgiving yourself, and for becoming aware of what’s happening in the present moment. So, what we’re going to do here is the very first exercise.

And with this exercise, you’re going to pause it to do this action when I tell you to pause it. So, what I want you to do right now is: We’re going to go through the curious cat space with me. Because I am a curious cat, we’re about to be curious cats together.

  • Take an honest look at the beliefs that you have for why you feel that you can’t be forgiven and spend as much time as you need to – to do this.  Even when you feel you have done enough. Do a little bit more as well. Take as much time as you need for this. And like I mentioned, you’re going to pause this and start it back up when you’re done doing this exercise. Are you ready?
